In addition to the awarded Envisions Project Scholarship, each awarded student will automatically enroll in our 12-month Envisions Project Mentorship Program. This program pairs each EP Scholar with a successful professional mentor who will help them navigate their first year of college and serve as a support system to help maximize their experience.
The program is structured in 12 flexible modules to help guide each monthly connect between the mentor and mentee. Participants must maintain communication with each other at least once a month beginning in August.
To take place in August with general introductions and establishing expectations for mentee and mentor.
Maintaining your personal brand is important both on and off social media, we will review the do's and don'ts.
How can you best manage your money and establish good financial independence?
How do stay organized and prioritize your time, how do you say "no"?
How do you network and building long term relationships?
Now that you have a better understanding of where you are heading, let's work to make an actionable long term plan.
Recruiting for an internship or job can be daunting. We will visit all the main elements of an application; resume, cover letter, interview, etc.
There are numerous off and on campus resources (i.e. career center, fellowships) how and when should you engage with them?
What are your career aspirations beyond college? What fellowships can you apply to? What are the current available opportunities?
Stress and being away from home are real emotions. There are many healthy habits that will help you thrive in your first year.
What are your core values and how do they guide you in your future decision making?
Final module to take place in July before Sophomore year begins. We will explore next steps and other higher education opportunities that are available.
