About Envisions
Our Founder
Our founder, Mireya, is a FGLI student herself and a proud Mexican-American. She graduated valedictorian from San Miguel High School in 2015 and left her hometown of Tucson, Arizona to attend college out of state.
The opportunity to attend Georgetown was life-changing, but the transition was hard.
Mireya incorporated Envisions in 2022 to pay it forward and so FGLI students, like her, don’t have to navigate that transition alone.
Since then Mireya has worked in New York City for PepsiCo as a Brand Marketer, served as a marketing advisor for startups, graduated from Harvard Business School, and is now a Consultant at Bain & Company.
Our Why
First-generation, low-income students bring talent, ambition, and resilience to college, but too often, they’re asked to navigate unfamiliar systems without support.
Nearly one-third of college students in the U.S. are first-generation. Yet fewer than one in four first-generation, low-income students earn a bachelor’s degree within six years.
From uncovered transition costs to the absence of mentorship, students attending college - especially out of state - face barriers that are rarely visible, but deeply consequential.
Our Purpose
To support first-generation, low-income students as they pursue college out of state by providing financial assistance, mentorship, and community during a critical life transition.
We strive to help them make informed, confident decisions - based on facts, self reflection, and belief in what’s possible.
